If you are considering a career with Olin Chlor Alkali Transportation, there are many opportunities for Driver Delivery Specialists working from our west coast locations. In addition, all of our drivers are company-drivers.

As a new member of Olin Chlor Alkali Transportation, you will receive initial on-the-job training and a detailed orientation of our company and the Transportation business. We are proud to have effective and efficient drivers and reward our drivers appropriately for their performance. Drivers are eligible to receive monthly bonuses, based on six performance dimensions: safety, housekeeping, customer focus, compliance, communications and productive work habits.

Your Job:
  • All drivers are paid overtime as required by applicable law
  • Olin Transportation follows all Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service Regulations
  • Drivers are home most nights
  • Drivers are paid bi-weekly on Friday
  • Drivers are eligible for company benefits including health insurance, holidays and time off as it relates to vacation
Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting pre/post trip inspections
  • Completing accurate information for the online Xata system
  • Adhering to all Safety requirements – including wearing all PPE during loading and unloading
  • Loading tankers to full capacity and ensuring safe and timely deliveries
  • Maintaining the highest level of customer service
  • Adhering to all maintenance and housekeeping compliances to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of equipment
  • Ensuring effective internal and external communications to dispatch office, customer service office, and to customers
Hiring Process for Driver Delivery Specialists


Step 1: Submit an Application and Resume Online

Olin Chlor Alkali will only accept applications submitted through our online application system. In order to be considered for any type of position at Olin Chlor Alkali, you will need to fill out the online application. It is the goal of Olin to hire the most qualified person for each opportunity.

Resumes that are mailed or e-mailed to Human Resources will not be considered.

Minimum Requirements for Driver Positions:

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or 15+ years’ commercial driving experience and proven safe work record.
  • Commercial driver’s license required; hazardous materials and tanker endorsements required.
  • Two years over-the-road experience required.
  • Up to one year of tanker experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to climb trailer and cab ladders; lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds; and wear a chemical suit in a hot environment.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in:

    • Effective verbal and written communications
    • Organizing, planning, and time management
    • Attention to detail
    • Team environment

Step 2: Phone Interview

After resumes and applications have been reviewed, select candidates will be contacted to arrange a phone interview. This is a 30-45 minute conversation with Olin employees that gives you the opportunity to share detailed information about how you have performed in previous work-related situations. We’ll ask you to share with us examples or specific situations that you’ve encountered and dealt with in the past. In addition, we’ll ask you about your interests and give you an opportunity to inquire about our organization and career opportunities.

Step 3: Site Interview

During the on site interview, candidates will be assessed on a set of competencies by a panel of 3-4 Olin employees. The primary purpose of the interview process is to assess the technical and cultural fit of the candidate with the needs of Olin and serves as a way for the candidate to gain a better understanding of the current opportunities available and the Olin organization.

Step 4: Road Test

A company representative will conduct the standard DOT road test to those candidates that interview successfully.

Step 5: Job Offer

Based on the results of the road test, you may be extended a job offer. Our offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening, DOT physical examination and DOT background check.
